Manila, Philippines – Amdocs has extended its managed services agreement with PLDT Inc. and its mobile subsidiary Smart Communications Inc. for a further seven years. The renewed partnership aims to support PLDT’s ongoing IT modernisation efforts and strengthen operational efficiency through AI and generative AI technologies.
The extended collaboration builds on previous cloud transformation projects between the two organisations and expands Amdocs’ role to include solution design, implementation, operations, and performance management. This approach is intended to deliver improved accountability, streamlined processes, and measurable outcomes across PLDT and Smart’s digital infrastructure.
“We are delighted to strengthen our long-standing partnership with PLDT, supporting the management of their service requirements with our products and services,” Anthony Goonetilleke, group president of technology and head of strategy at Amdocs, commented.
He added, “PLDT understands the immense value of leveraging generative AI to improve their operations and deliver better experiences for their customers. We’re thrilled to support their continued transformation journey.”
By leveraging Amdocs’ AI-driven platforms and its Services360 solution, PLDT plans to enhance service delivery, improve agility, and optimise operational costs. The partnership also enables scalable operations across hybrid, multi-cloud, and on-premises environments, promoting greater flexibility and integration within PLDT and Smart’s IT landscape.
“This agreement with Amdocs marks an important step in accelerating our vision to make the Philippines a leading digital and AI hub in the region,” Manuel V. Pangilinan, chairman & CEO of PLDT and Smart Communications Inc. stated.
He added, “By harnessing the power of generative AI and advanced technologies, we aim to strengthen PLDT’s ability to serve customers better and also help shape a smarter, more connected, and digitally inclusive Philippines, where technology uplifts and drives progress.”
Through its modernisation initiatives, PLDT aims to strengthen the country’s digital foundations, foster innovation, and support the development of a more connected and inclusive society powered by technology.
