Airwallex appoints ex-Afterpay marketing chief Andrew Balint as new VP of marketing for APAC

Singapore – Airwallex, a global payments platform, has recently named Andrew Balint as the company’s new VP of Marketing for APAC, excluding China.

Balint brings 25 years of marketing experience, having held senior positions at Afterpay, amaysim, Ola, and Optus. 

His most recent role includes being the VP of Marketing for ANZ & APAC at Afterpay for four years.  In this position, he directed the platform’s marketing efforts in brand development, growth strategies, product marketing, and enhancing customer experience.

As part of his responsibilities, Balint will spearhead efforts in brand strategy, growth marketing, integrated campaigns, content, and partnerships across key regions such as Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malaysia.

He will also report directly to Arnold Chan, general manager for APAC, and work in close collaboration with Jon Stona, VP of global marketing, within Airwallex’s marketing team.

Commenting about the appointment, Chan said, “We are delighted to welcome Andrew to our team at Airwallex. As we approach our 10-year milestone and expand our offerings into new products and markets, we’re privileged to have someone of Andrew’s calibre to lead our next phase of marketing across the Asia-Pacific region.”

Balint also shared, “I’ve been watching Airwallex’s incredible growth and innovation, and I’m thrilled to now be part of the journey. The global payments landscape is evolving rapidly, and Airwallex is at the forefront of that change.”
