Singapore – Shopee has recently announced the rollout of Shopee International Platform (SIP) in Singapore. This strategic expansion, backed by EnterpriseSG, is designed to provide businesses with cost-free entry into regional markets such as Malaysia and Thailand.
According to the company, SIP onboarded more than 8,000 Singaporean sellers in its pilot phase, resulting in an eightfold surge in orders and gross merchandise value within three months.
It offers market expansion, hassle-free fulfilment with Shopee managing shipping and customer support, and an invitation-only onboarding process.
Shopee also plans to expand its SIP operations in the Philippines to help sellers connect with more customers while also offering free international shipping, secure transactions, and customer service assistance.
Moreover, high-performing sellers will have access to exclusive tools to refine their operations in Malaysia, including product curation, competitive pricing, and promotional management.
Chua Kel Jin, director at Shopee Singapore, shared, “With the support of EnterpriseSG, we’ve helped our local sellers reach a broader consumer base and enabled them to showcase Singaporean sellers’ products to our neighbouring markets.”
Cindy Khoo, managing director at EnterpriseSG, commented, “The SIP is starting with Malaysia and Thailand, which are two of the fastest growing consumer markets and digital economies in the Southeast Asia region, and we hope it continues to grow.”
