Singapore – Alibaba, an online marketplace company, has recently unveiled plans to restructure its e-commerce operations, merging both its domestic and international units into one division. This strategic move complements the company’s current efforts to maximise opportunities in cross-border e-commerce.

According to Eddie Wu, CEO at Alibaba Group, said initiative also aligns with the company’s commitment to supporting SMEs in expanding into global markets as well as serving their consumers worldwide.

It further reflects their determination to elevate the company’s e-commerce footprint while also strengthening its e-commerce dominance in China.

The recently established group will be headed by Jiang Fan, the current CEO of Alibaba International Digital Commerce, and will report directly to Wu. This will comprise platforms including Taobao, Tmall, AliExpress, Alibaba.com, Lazada, Trendyol, 1688, and Idle Fish.
