Singapore – Adyen, a global financial tech firm, has recently named Ben Wong as its new general manager for Southeast Asia and Hong Kong.

Wong will be responsible for spearheading the company’s commercial operations in the region, with a primary focus on growth expansion and cultivating strategic partnerships in key markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.

Joining Adyen in 2016, he started his journey in the company as a technology consultant, where he provided strategic counsel to enterprises during the formative years of the payments industry.

In 2017, he moved to sales and has led the company’s notable success across retail, ecommerce, and hospitality industries. His technical proficiency and deep understanding of both the market and merchants’ needs have further helped him guide the commercial teams in delivering cross-channel payment services to businesses in Singapore.

Before joining Adyen, Wong worked in fintech, information technology, and project management for five years. His experiences in these fields have equipped him with the technical expertise and problem-solving capabilities needed to thrive in the fast-paced payments industry.

Warren Hayashi, president of Asia Pacific at Adyen, said, “We are thrilled to have Ben in this new role, bringing his expertise and insights from working with customers in different sectors to the broader region.”

“Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong have been pivotal markets for us, and with Ben’s demonstrated experience in Adyen, we are confident that he will lead the region to address the ever-evolving needs of our customers,” aaded Hayashi.

Wong further expressed his enthusiasm for the position, stating, “I am honoured to step into this new role and contribute to Adyen’s continued growth. My deep roots in the industry fuel my drive for creating exceptional experiences for consumers and building strong, lasting partnerships with our customers.”

“I look forward to driving the business forward and achieving sustained growth for our customers and us in a region filled with immense potential,” he concluded.
