Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Amagi, a cloud-managed broadcast services firm, has recently announced a strategic partnership with Astro Malaysia Holdings Berhad, a media and entertainment company.
Through the alliance, the companies are set to modernise systems and infrastructure for the playout and origination of their existing linear channels and playout disaster recovery capabilities, as well as move them to Amazon Web Services.
The said deployment will assist Astro in optimising its media operations, enhancing business agility, increasing service resilience, and mitigating the risks of maintaining legacy systems.
Furthermore, the forthcoming AWS Asia Pacific (Malaysia) Region launch aligns with Astro’s broadcast transformation efforts, designed to deploy innovative media and entertainment solutions.
Capitalising on AWS’ cloud infrastructure, unparalleled scalability, and advanced services, the company also aims to bolster in-country network infrastructure resiliency and performance, enhancing customer experiences.
In addition, Astro will further implement the Amagi CLOUDPORT channel playout platform and the Amagi MONITORING solution. The said solutions will offer enhanced operational resiliency as well as enable quicker upgrades to service capability, addressing the evolving needs of the broadcasting landscape.
