Hong Kong – Cybersecurity firm Trend Micro has recently unveiled an additional AI-powered feature in its platform, aiming for responsible usage and management of artificial intelligence.
These new capabilities in Trend Vision One Zero Trust Secure Access positions the company as the first vendor focusing on securing AI services and people using them across the enterprise.
In particular, the said enhancements include providing a centralised management of employee access and usage of AI applications and a prompt inspection to prevent data leaks and malicious injections.
It also has content filtering to meet compliance requirements as well as a defence against large language model (LLM) attacks.
Additionally, these new elements further complement existing capabilities for contextualising alerts and decoding complex scripts, enabling threat hunting queries that can eliminate credential phishing, suggesting customised response actions, and more.
Experts from the company have further provided guidance to the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) on potential revisions to its Zero Trust Maturity Model (ZTMM). The model is designed to assist organisations in securing their projects that involve integrating emerging technologies.
Eva Chen, co-founder and chief executive officer at Trend Micro, commented, “Great advancements in technology always come with new cyber risk. Like cloud and every other leap in technology we have secured, the promise of the AI era is only powerful if protected. Our latest platform updates deliver new efficiencies to security teams and provide critical guidelines for AI use.”
Dave Gruber, principal analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group, also shared, “In addition to establishing and refining AI governance policies, security teams need effective mechanisms to identify, monitor, and implement controls for AI usage at both the individual and enterprise level.”
“Security vendors like Trend Micro, who have both a long history and experience working with AI and a proven record of delivering solutions for monitoring and implementing network, web, and cloud controls, are well positioned to help security teams enable the rapid adoption of AI to accelerate business objectives in a secure manner,” added Dave.
The said initiative builds on the company’s commitment to responsible use of AI, asserting that all security vendors share a responsibility to ensure that technologies are developed and used in ethical, transparent, and accountable ways.
