Singapore – Autodesk and JTC Corporation have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore the use of artificial intelligence in Singapore’s built environment, focusing on connected data, project delivery and interoperable digital workflows.
The collaboration will examine how project information created during design and construction can be exchanged and reused throughout an asset’s lifecycle. The organisations aim to assess whether AI-enabled workflows can improve project delivery, decision-making and sustainability outcomes.
The work will cover three areas: connected data and lifecycle information management; AI-enabled digital project delivery and sustainability analysis; and interoperability across platforms, systems and third-party solutions.
The organisations will explore how structured and governed data could support decision-making from early planning through facility operations. They will also assess AI and computational workflows for project delivery, model verification and embodied- and whole-life-carbon assessments.
“Singapore’s vision to build an AI-ready nation presents a powerful opportunity to transform how we design, construct, and manage our built environment,” said Haresh Khoobchandani, Vice-President for Asia Pacific and Japan at Autodesk.
“Through this collaboration with JTC, we look forward to exploring how AI-driven workflows and connected data can unlock new possibilities across the Design and Make lifecycle, elevating efficiency, collaboration, and sustainability from inception to operation,” Khoobchandani continued.
“We’ve made strong digital progress in Singapore’s built environment sector. The next step is to make it smarter,” said Calvin Chung, Assistant Chief Executive of JTC Corporation.
“With Autodesk, we will explore how AI and data can be connected in a safe and accurate manner, to help us better plan, build, and manage our industrial infrastructure. The data can work for us long after a project is completed; helping us understand and operate the infrastructure more effectively, make well-informed decisions on the next project, and support Singapore’s transition to an AI-enabled economy,” Chung continued.
