Singapore – Revolut has appointed a new Singapore Advisory Board, a move that signals the fintech giant’s deepening commitment to the city-state as a springboard for growth across Asia.
The global fintech, which serves more than 80 million retail customers and hundreds of thousands of business customers worldwide, confirmed the appointments today.
Three senior figures make up the newly formed board: Teo Ser Luck, Charles Wong, and Yvonne Aw.
Between them, the trio bring decades of combined experience spanning banking, government and corporate leadership, positioning the board to offer strategic guidance to Revolut’s Singapore leadership team.
Their remit will cover governance, regulatory engagement, business strategy, and sustainable growth, according to the company.
Moreover, the board’s establishment marks what Revolut describes as an important milestone in its long-term growth plans for Singapore.
Going forward, the advisors are expected to support the firm as it broadens its product offering, invests in local talent and taps into Singapore’s standing as a global financial hub.
Teo Ser Luck, the first appointee, brings a background spanning government, business and entrepreneurship to the role.
A former Minister of State for Manpower and Trade & Industry, he has held several senior public leadership positions throughout his career.
In addition, he served as President of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) from 2022 to 2026, a tenure during which he pushed for professional upskilling and AI adoption within the sector.
Having completed his maximum four-year term at ISCA, Teo was subsequently appointed an Advisor to the institute.
His grasp of Singapore’s policy landscape and corporate governance framework is expected to strengthen Revolut’s engagement with both public and private sector stakeholders.
Next is Charles Wong, who brings more than 25 years of executive leadership experience across retail banking, global markets and digital banking.
He previously served as Founding Chief Executive Officer of GXS Bank Singapore, where he led the build and launch of one of the country’s first digital banks.
Before that, Wong held senior roles at Citibank, including Managing Director and Head of Retail Banking Singapore, alongside regional leadership duties spanning Retail Banking and Global Markets across Asia.
Currently, he leads the Retail and Digital Banking practice for Asia at Simon-Kucher, where he advises financial institutions on growth and transformation.
His track record in scaling banking businesses and driving digital transformation is set to prove valuable as Revolut expands its financial services footprint in the region.
Rounding out the board is Yvonne Aw, who brings extensive experience in corporate governance, financial services, audit and risk management.
She has served on boards and audit and risk committees across the financial services sector, giving her deep insight into governance frameworks and regulatory oversight.
At present, Aw serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Audit & Risk Committee at Sompo Insurance China.
Her appointment is expected to strengthen the board’s oversight of governance, risk and control frameworks as Revolut continues to scale.
Commenting on the appointments, Raymond Ng, CEO of Revolut Singapore and Southeast Asia, said, “Singapore is the engine of our growth strategy in Asia. As we expand across the region, strong governance, operational controls and risk management remain a top priority. We are strengthening our local operating model to ensure robust oversight as our business grows.”
“Ser Luck, Charles and Yvonne bring deep expertise across public policy, banking, governance and risk management. Their collective experience will strengthen local accountability and governance, while supporting our long-term growth and commitment to the high standards expected of a trusted financial institution”, Ng added
