Vietnam – Blackwall, a European web traffic security company, has partnered with HOSTVN TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS JOINT STOCK COMPANY (HostVN) to launch an integrated website protection service in Vietnam, marking its first publicly disclosed expansion into Southeast Asia.

Through the partnership, HostVN will integrate Blackwall’s traffic security platform into its hosting infrastructure, enabling businesses in Vietnam to access managed website protection services, including Layer 7 (L7) DDoS defence, bot mitigation, web application firewall (WAF), SSL management, and content caching without requiring in-house cybersecurity expertise.

The launch comes as organisations face growing volumes of automated web traffic. According to Statista Research, more than half of global web traffic is now generated by bots, contributing not only to cybersecurity threats but also to increased infrastructure costs, distorted analytics, and potential revenue losses.

For HostVN, the partnership expands its infrastructure portfolio beyond web hosting, cloud services, content delivery, digital transformation, and AI offerings by adding managed web traffic security. Founded in 2007, the company serves more than 50,000 customers across Vietnam.

“Nineteen years ago, we started HostVN with one purpose: to give Vietnamese businesses a strong foundation on the internet,” said Duong Thanh Binh, Chairman of HostVN. “Vietnam has not stood still, and neither have we. Every phase of our growth has been driven by the same commitment – to give the businesses that trust us the infrastructure they need to thrive. Today, the threat is not just downtime. It is invisible traffic that costs money, corrupts data, and goes undetected. HOSTVN Website Protection, powered by Blackwall, is our answer and our commitment to Vietnam’s digital future.”

Blackwall delivers its platform through a channel-first model, working with hosting and cloud infrastructure providers rather than selling directly to end customers. Its reverse proxy technology analyses incoming traffic using multiple detection methods—including Layer 4 and Layer 7 inspection, device fingerprinting, IP reputation scoring, and behavioural analysis—to identify and block malicious requests before they reach customer websites.

The integrated service combines L7 DDoS protection, advanced bot mitigation, WAF capabilities aligned with the OWASP Top 10 security risks, as well as automated SSL certificate management and content caching to improve website performance.

Vietnam is the first market in Blackwall’s planned Southeast Asia expansion. The company said the country was selected due to its rapidly growing digital economy and increasing demand for web infrastructure security, with HostVN providing an established local customer base and network infrastructure to support its regional entry.

Madan Rai, VP Sales Asia at Blackwall, said, “Vietnam is ready, and Blackwall is committing to it. More than half the traffic hitting a website today is not a real customer. Bots and automated requests consume bandwidth, distort analytics, and drain advertising spend — silently, every day.”

Rai continued, “Through HostVN, we are placing enterprise-grade traffic security directly into the infrastructure that Vietnamese businesses already rely on. This partnership anchors Blackwall’s broader expansion across Southeast Asia. We chose Vietnam as our launchpad because its digital economy is scaling rapidly, and it requires infrastructure that matches that ambition.”
