Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Tencent Cloud has entered into a partnership with Malaysia-based Ryt Bank to support the delivery of AI-led digital banking services in the country. The collaboration focuses on providing a conversational banking model for routine payments, using Tencent Cloud Chat (IM) as the communication layer for processing user requests and financial transactions securely and reliably.
Ryt Bank was created with the aim of simplifying digital banking processes by reducing the number of steps typically required to complete common transactions. Its platform is designed around a voice and text-led interface that allows customers to issue direct commands, such as transferring money, rather than navigating multiple menus or screens. Tencent Cloud’s messaging technology underpins this system, drawing on infrastructure used across Tencent’s wider global network.
“Our mission is to empower Malaysians to drive intelligent, AI-powered banking, delivering smarter, faster finance and real impact for all. Tencent Cloud has been a strategic partner in achieving this goal,” Wilson Soon, interim CEO of Ryt Bank, stated.
“The Tencent Cloud Chat (IM) feature was straightforward to integrate, providing the stable, low-latency communication required to handle high-concurrency transactions smoothly, which is fundamental to our growth and our ability to strengthen customer trust.”
Security and regulatory compliance remain central to the partnership. Tencent Cloud Chat includes encrypted communications and message auditing functions intended to support transaction traceability and meet industry requirements. Tencent Cloud mentioned its wider network infrastructure, which includes more than 3,200 edge nodes globally, is designed to reduce latency and improve service reliability.
“Southeast Asia is a key hub for digital innovation, and we are proud to support ambitious pioneers like Ryt Bank in creating a future-forward banking experience,” Kenneth Siow, Regional Director for Southeast Asia and General Manager for Singapore & Malaysia at Tencent Cloud International, stated.
“This collaboration highlights our commitment to empower local businesses in Malaysia and across the region to build the next generation of services by providing the robust and high-speed infrastructure they need to create enhanced customer experiences.”
The platform supports Malay, English and Chinese, enabling Ryt Bank to offer services to a broad range of users in Malaysia’s multilingual market.
The agreement reflects its continued focus on Southeast Asia and its wider strategy of supporting organisations in developing digital services. The company added that it now operates in more than 80 countries and regions, where it provides cloud and related technology services for enterprise customers.
