Workato expands Philippines presence to support enterprise AI growth

Manila, Philippines – Workato has formally launched its Philippine subsidiary and local office as part of its broader Southeast Asia expansion strategy, signalling increased focus on the country’s growing digital economy.

The move comes as organisations in the Philippines continue to increase spending on technology across sectors, including financial services, retail, business process outsourcing and government. The company views the market as an important base for enterprise technology development and AI adoption, according to The Manila Times

Additionally, Workato has named Tyrone Borromeo as Managing Director for the Philippines. He has more than 25 years of experience in enterprise technology and is expected to oversee customer growth, partner development and local team expansion.

The company said its platform is designed to help organisations connect data, applications and internal processes within a governed environment, allowing businesses to deploy AI systems more effectively and at scale. Workato is positioning this capability as a way for companies to move beyond pilot projects and generate measurable operational results.

Several Philippine companies are already using Workato’s technology, including Jollibee Foods Corporation, Philippine Airlines and Prince Retail Group of Companies, which were named Pioneer Customer Awardees.

As part of the company’s move into the Philippine market, Workato has also established offices in Makati and Alabang, with plans to expand its Philippine workforce by between 20-30% by the end of 2026. Recruitment is expected to focus on customer support, consulting, partner management and related enterprise functions.

Moreover, Workato has also increased engagement with the local technology community through events, executive forums and training programmes.

The Philippine launch represents a longer-term investment by Workato in a market where businesses are increasingly seeking automation and AI tools to modernise operations and improve competitiveness, according to both publications.
