Singapore – Hyperscale data centre operator AirTrunk has opened a new regional headquarters in Singapore, marking ten years of operations in the country and signalling continued regional expansion plans. The office is located within the Ocean Financial Centre in the city’s central financial district.
The company indicated that the new site forms part of its long-term strategy in Asia Pacific and the Middle East, positioning Singapore as a strategic gateway for digital infrastructure development and regional operations.
Situated near Marina Bay, the workspace was designed by architecture firm Woods Bagot and incorporates flexible collaboration areas, employee wellbeing spaces and energy-efficient features. The facility is located in a building certified under Singapore’s Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy scheme, reflecting a focus on sustainable workplace design.
“The launch of our new office signals our confidence in the country’s continued leadership in digital infrastructure and advanced AI ecosystems,” Robin Khuda, founder & chief executive officer of AirTrunk, stated.
“As hyperscale demand continues to rise, we’re deepening our partnerships, investing in local talent and advancing sustainable operations to support the nation’s digital ambitions and the region’s growing infrastructure needs.”
The regional headquarters will host senior leadership and teams covering development, operations, innovation, finance, legal and corporate services. The company expects its workforce in Singapore to expand in the coming years as the city continues to serve as its regional base.
Since establishing operations in Singapore in 2016, AirTrunk has invested several billion dollars across three hyperscale data centres with a combined IT capacity of around 180 megawatts. In August 2025, the firm secured a S$2.25b green loan to support the development of its SGP2 hyperscale facility, which was described at the time as the largest loan and green loan issued in Singapore for a data centre project.
Singapore’s recent budget for 2026 highlighted measures to strengthen digital capabilities, including initiatives to accelerate artificial intelligence adoption, enhance digital trust frameworks and expand high-performance computing capacity.
Additionally, AirTrunk’s data centre portfolio in Singapore aligns with the government’s digital connectivity and green data centre initiatives, which aim to position the city-state as a secure and energy-efficient hub for cloud and advanced computing services.
“AirTrunk’s decade-long presence in Singapore, and its decision to establish its regional headquarters here, underscore Singapore’s role as a hub for global companies, particularly in the technology sector,” Pee Beng Kong, executive vice president of the Singapore Economic Development Board, stated.
“As global demand for AI and cloud services accelerates, we will continue to welcome companies like AirTrunk that are deepening their presence in Singapore and advancing research and innovation.”
Alongside its infrastructure investments, AirTrunk has also supported a number of community and environmental initiatives in Singapore.
These include digital literacy and employment training programmes with Daughters of Tomorrow, conservation activities at Mandai Mangrove and Mudflat Nature Park through the Garden City Fund of the National Parks Board, and a citizen science project with WWF-Singapore aimed at identifying illegal wildlife trade listings online using artificial intelligence tools.
