Singapore – SingPost, a leading postal and eCommerce logistics provider, has recently announced a multi-year collaboration with Google Cloud, integrating its business operations into the platform while simultaneously enhancing workflow productivity and integrated logistics through advanced AI tools designed for enterprise use.

With this partnership, the two are set to introduce a more secure foundation for digital and AI-driven innovation, creating a strong and safe base for innovations.

In particular, said company has moved all its IT workloads from its own data centres to Google Cloud, taking advantage of the platform’s AI-optimised infrastructure, purpose-built to handle complex AI workloads, while also ensuring cost-efficiency, scalability, and sustainability.

To further safeguard its enterprise data and applications, SingPost has also deployed Google Cloud’s BeyondCorp Enterprise platform, enforcing zero-trust security principles like multi-factor authentication and device verification, ensuring that only authorised staff can access proprietary company information.

In terms of logistics and supply chain management, the company has also leveraged advanced AI technologies by creating a prototype AI solution to make its eCommerce logistics operations smoother.

Said solution gets rid of the tedious task of entering partner and supplier details from trade documents, even handwritten ones, into its system. It also frees up employees from the hassle of searching through document archives to find information.

Moreover, SingPost also tapped Vertex AI to enhance solutions for various cases like automating internal legal document reviews and elevating customer care by offering more personalised interactions. Through this application, the company ensures customers have full control and segregation of their data and intellectual property.

The company, on the other hand, maintains complete control over its data, including prompts and user inputs during inference. At the same time, the data stays within SingPost’s dedicated Google Cloud environment, is encrypted in transit and at rest, and remains inaccessible to Google Cloud or any external parties.

Speaking about this collaboration, Noel Singgih, group chief information officer at SingPost, shared, “SingPost is no stranger to embracing innovative technologies, from data analytics to warehouse automation, to meet the evolving needs of our customers. This, coupled with strategic investment in high-growth markets, has resulted in international logistics generating 86% of the group’s revenue, a key milestone in our ongoing transformation into a technology-driven logistics enterprise.

“Our positive engagement with Google Cloud to develop an AI solution—through their joint AI Trailblazers initiative with the Singapore Government—gave us the confidence to embark on the next step of this journey with them as our strategic cloud services provider. Google Cloud’s industry leadership in responsible AI, sustainable technology innovation, and cybersecurity will be core tenets in establishing SingPost as a trusted and customer-centric logistics leader in the Asia Pacific region,” added Noel.

Philbert Gomez, vice president and head at Digital Industry Singapore (DISG), also supported Noel’s statement, saying, “We are pleased that the AI Trailblazers initiative has assisted SingPost in building a general AI solution that will increase productivity. This is in line with Singapore’s efforts to establish itself as a thriving hub for AI innovation by encouraging more experimentation and rapid prototyping. We look forward to more Singapore-based companies creating impactful AI applications from this initiative.”

Meanwhile, Mark Micallef, managing director at Google Cloud Southeast Asia, said, “By investing in AI development and collaborator platforms with built-in privacy, control, security, and compliance capabilities, SingPost is empowering every employee—regardless of their role or function—to identify and capitalise on new opportunities for work optimization. This serves as a strong example of how a large enterprise can move swiftly to extract diverse benefits from general AI adoption.

“We look forward to continuing to support SingPost’s deployment of enterprise-grade AI solutions, accelerating the company’s time-to-value, and reinforcing its leadership in delivering innovative and trusted eCommerce logistics services at scale,” he concluded.

SingPost is presently democratising the utilisation of advanced AI tools across the entire workforce by replacing outdated productivity tools with Duet AI in Google Workspace. This integration allows employees to write, visualise, organise, and connect more effectively, embedding general AI seamlessly into familiar cloud-native communication and collaboration applications.
