Jakarta, Indonesia – Telkom Indonesia, alongside cybersecurity firm F5, has announced recently that it has teamed up to bolster its security capabilities and services. This initiative was commemorated through the signing of a memorandum of understanding on Thursday, May 2.

As part of the agreement, the two will collaborate in providing comprehensive cybersecurity services to the Indonesian market. This encompasses accelerating development and improving Telkom’s capabilities in the field of cybersecurity and other digital products.

Additionally, F5’s cybersecurity strengths in application and API security, along with multi-cloud management, are expected to enhance TelkomGroup’s IT services portfolio.

Speaking about the initiative, Budi Setyawan Wijaya, director of strategic portfolio at Telkom Indonesia, said, “The Telkom-F5 strategic partnership is one of the efforts to strengthen TelkomGroup’s capabilities as the digital telco of choice in Indonesia, especially in the field of cybersecurity. This is also in line with Telkom’s strategic programme, namely TelkomGroup’s Five Bold Moves, especially B2B Digital IT Services.”

FM Venusiana R, director of enterprise and business service at Telkom Indonesia, further stated, “The need for cybersecurity in the future will increase rapidly along with the stronger digital transformation campaign in Indonesia and the entry into force of the Personal Data Protection Law in October 2024. This strategic partnership is a form of TelkomGroup’s commitment to answering the need for reliable and reliable cybersecurity services.”

Meanwhile, Adam Judd, senior vice president APCJ at F5, shared, “By leveraging Telkom’s robust infrastructure and F5’s leading-edge technology, we aim to be a pioneer in delivering innovative solutions to secure every application and API used by our customers.”

“With F5’s AI-driven capabilities, our strategic partnership with Telkom not only addresses current and future cybersecurity challenges but also paves the way for new business models and revenue sources,” he added.

Surung Sinamo, country manager for Indonesia at F5, also said, “We are excited to start a strategic partnership with Telkom. Through our joint efforts in product bundling and leveraging Telkom’s strengths in the infrastructure business, we are confident of enhancing our cybersecurity service offerings for Indonesia’s dynamic B2B technology market.”

The strategic collaboration is anticipated to bolster the government’s initiatives to fortify the Indonesian economy, where cybersecurity plays a crucial role in fostering a robust, secure, sovereign, and sustainable digital economy.
