Singapore – With the ongoing surge of QR code attacks, advanced email and collaboration security company Mimecast has recently announced the latest advancements to its Quick Response (QR) code protections, indicating its commitment to ensure better security service for the organisations it serves.

In this latest upgrade, Mimecast revealed that the platform now incorporates deep scanning of URLs associated with QR codes. Subsequently, any identified malicious content will be blocked upon inspection.

These improvements address security concerns by identifying QR codes within the body of an email and extracting the associated URLs for deep scanning.

Furthermore, Mimecast has also fortified ‘quishing’ protection, contributing to the safety of employee inboxes and empowering customer organisations to operate securely and be work-protected.

Stanley Hsu, regional VP of Asia at Mimecast, said, “QR code attacks pose a serious and growing threat for organisations worldwide.”

“At Mimecast, we will always innovate to meet our customers’ needs, and we are tackling this growing attack vector head-on to keep organisations secure,” concluded Stanley.
