Singapore – Telecommunications firm Lumen Technologies has recently announced the expansion of its cybersecurity service offering, highlighting the company’s proactive approach towards the critical role of cybersecurity in protecting businesses, the economy, and the community from cyber risks.

As part of the expansion, the company’s Advanced Managed Detection and Response (Advanced MDR) service goes beyond traditional monitoring and detection, addressing the demands of the present-day AI-driven landscape. This encompasses both innovative opportunities and cybersecurity risks, urging enterprises to future-proof their digital infrastructure.

Key features of the innovation include extending threat detection and threat hunting capabilities across attack surfaces, beyond just the network infrastructure and endpoints. It also offers complete visibility of assets across the attack surface, enabling risk-based continuous vulnerability management and elevating the security posture.

Moreover, it provides next-generation threat modelling and detection engineering processes based on the MITRE ATT&CK® framework to improve threat detection effectiveness.

The said advancement further counters the rise of AI-powered cyberattacks through the company’s Black Lotus Labs threat intelligence and collaboration with industries and organisations. This includes combining AI’s analytics with human expertise in a human-in-the-loop defence strategy.

Additionally, it also serves as a catalyst for business protection with built-in integration, automation, and a proactive  end-to-end security solution. This minimises dwell time and enhances speed and efficiency of response, enabling quicker remediation.

Speaking about this endeavour, Wai Kit Cheah, senior director of product and practices at Lumen Technologies, APAC, said, “A comprehensive and advanced MDR is now more critical than ever, especially with the rise of sophisticated TTPs, exploitation of zero-day vulnerabilities, and increased social engineering attacks, including increasingly AI or deep fake use cases. We have seen the need for cybersecurity to go beyond just preventive steps and immediately nip the problem in the bud even before the issue affects the enterprise’s functions.”

“The expansion of our Advanced MDR solution comes as a timely milestone, taking us a step further within our cybersecurity expertise, adding to our latest recognition as a major player in IDC’s MarketScape Worldwide Cybersecurity Consulting Vendor Assessment,” Wai Kit further explained.

Meanwhile, by partnering with a trusted Advanced MDR provider to safeguard an organisation’s intellectual property (IP) and customers, enterprises can maintain their competitive edge and focus on their core business and revenue generators.

Following this, Christian Fam, regional research manager at IDC Asia/Pacific, also shared, “The added value proposition of Lumen’s Advanced MDR not only underscores its commitment to enhancing enterprises’ security posture with a refreshed take on cybersecurity, but also provides them with the capabilities to scale alongside their evolving cybersecurity needs and business growth.”

“Advanced MDR service offerings should not only aim to reduce detection and response times but, more critically, should support customers by integrating solutions to manage their security posture through a unified, single-pane-of-glass view,” he concluded.

Through Lumen’s Advanced MDR services, enterprises can further ‘See More, Stop More’, minimising a scramble for protection only when a breach happens. The company’s adaptability is also crucial among enterprises, with the flexibility needed to scale and adapt to fluctuating growth and business needs.

Singapore – TrendAI, the enterprise-focused AI security platform developed by Trend Micro Incorporated, has entered into a strategic collaboration with Anthropic to integrate Claude models across its systems. The arrangement is intended to support automated processes, agent-driven workflows, AI-based security operations, and enhanced research into vulnerabilities affecting AI environments and infrastructure. The integration is also expected to contribute to improved identification of weaknesses and more coordinated risk mitigation in operational settings. The development forms part of TrendAI’s broader effort to position itself within the emerging AI security segment, as its enterprise division continues to evolve. The company aims to extend its capabilities globally through partnerships that combine research, defensive technologies, and product innovation. “This next phase is about scaling that vision globally, with leading partners like Anthropic,” Rachel Jin, Chief Platform and Business Officer, Head of TrendAI, shared. “Our broad, strategic collaboration across research, defence, and innovation will define how AI is secured moving forward." The deployment of Claude models will span several areas, including threat analysis, platform development, operational execution, and commercial expansion. These functions are designed to address the full lifecycle of AI security, from detecting vulnerabilities to enabling automated protection and supporting AI-driven operational frameworks. “By using Claude to power TrendAI Vision One and initiatives like TrendAI Zero Day Initiative (ZDI) and Pwn2Own, we are advancing the next iteration of vulnerability discovery and reporting—and tilting the scales toward defenders,” Ash Alhashim, Head of Cybersecurity GTM at Anthropic, stated. A key aspect of the partnership involves expanding research into risks associated with AI systems, particularly as the potential attack surface continues to grow. By leveraging established programmes, the company intends to bring real-world vulnerability insights into AI development processes, allowing critical issues to be identified and addressed before deployment. In addition, the use of Anthropic’s models is expected to enhance platform capabilities by supporting automation, reducing operational complexity, and enabling organisations to respond more efficiently to security challenges as they scale their use of artificial intelligence technologies.
