Petaling Jaya, Malaysia – CelcomDigi Berhad, a telecommunications firm, has recently named Dennis Chia as the company’s latest chief financial officer, effective January 2, 2025.

With more than 30 years of financial expertise, Chia steps into his new role as a certified public accountant, with an accounting degree from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and an MBA focused on marketing and finance from the University of Hull in England.

Prior to his recent appointment, he became the chief financial officer at StarHub in Singapore for almost 10 years, concluding his tenure in September 2024.

He also held senior finance leadership roles in sectors like technology, semiconductor, automation, and oil and gas companies. These positions include being the senior vice president and CFO for STATS ChiPAC Worldwide and vice president of finance at Lear Corporation.

Chia is set to take over Lucy Tan’s CFO role, with Tan leaving the company following the end of her contract.

Tan has been part of CelcomDigi’s management team since the merger in December 2022 and has strengthened CelcomDigi’s growth and operational efficiency focus. This further encompassed leadership initiatives on key finance transformation efforts, establishing a strong foundation to drive the company’s performance.
