Singapore – Nozomi Networks has announced the establishment of its APJ regional headquarters in Singapore, marking a significant investment in the region. The company, which focuses on cybersecurity for operational technology, the IoT, and cyber-physical systems, will use the new base to support its expanding presence across the region.
Singapore was selected due to its strategic location, deep talent pool and role as a regional centre for technology and business. The move is intended to accelerate product development and improve local service delivery as demand for industrial and critical infrastructure security continues to grow.
The company also aligns with Singapore’s regulatory approach to cybersecurity, including national frameworks governing the protection of critical systems.
“Nozomi Networks has worked hand in hand with Singaporean industry, critical infrastructure, and government leaders to raise the bar on industrial cyber security, and it’s fitting now to make the country our APJ headquarters,” David Hope, regional vice president of APJ at Nozomi Networks, commented.
“Awareness for critical infrastructure cybersecurity is increasing every day, with new regulatory requirements playing a major role in organisations’ investment in cybersecurity solutions.”
As part of its regional activities, Nozomi Networks is working with the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) in support of initiatives such as the national Operational Technology Cybersecurity Masterplan 2024 and guidance for critical information infrastructure. Through the sharing of technical knowledge and industry experience, the company aims to contribute to efforts to strengthen the resilience of essential services.
The Singapore headquarters will serve as a hub for regional operations, drawing on the country’s position as a leading centre for industrial cybersecurity. Nozomi Networks currently serves close to 100 customers across the region, and the investment is intended to support further scale. The initial team will cover regional leadership, commercial functions, professional services, partner management, customer success and technical support, with plans for expansion in line with market growth.
The establishment of the regional headquarters follows a recent agreement for Nozomi Networks to become a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Electric, representing the largest acquisition of US$1b to date in the operational technology security sector.
In addition to expanding its direct operations, the company plans to further develop its partner ecosystem across the region, building on existing relationships with specialised partners operating throughout the region.
