Hitachi Vantara names Wendy Koh as vice president of sales for APAC

Singapore – Hitachi Vantara, the data storage, infrastructure and hybrid cloud management arm of Hitachi, has named Wendy Koh as vice president of sales for the APAC region, with the appointment taking effect immediately.

Based in Singapore, Wendy will take responsibility for directing the company’s regional sales strategy across APAC, with a focus on supporting customer demand for AI-ready data platforms and hybrid cloud storage environments.

Wendy will manage regional sales operations, strengthening relationships with customers and partners, and driving strategic programmes to increase adoption of the company’s portfolio, including its Virtual Storage Platform One (VSP One) unified data platform.

“Asia Pacific is a powerhouse of innovation and growth, and I’m honoured to lead Hitachi Vantara’s next chapter in this dynamic region,” Wendy commented.

She added, “By combining our deep industry expertise with cutting-edge data and hybrid cloud solutions, we’re uniquely positioned to help our customers accelerate transformation and unlock new ROI.”

Wendy is working closely with Adrian Johnson, senior vice president and general manager for the Americas and APAC at Hitachi Vantara, who shared how the region’s AI data centre market is expected to grow by 22% by 2029.

“It is imperative that we have the right leadership in place to meet this moment, and Wendy brings an unmatched wealth of expertise in understanding the complex digital challenges facing enterprises today,” Adrian shared.

He added, “We are grateful to have her join the team and deliver meaningful outcomes for customers and partners as they manage the explosive growth of data across APAC.”

The appointment comes as enterprises across the region increase investment in data centre infrastructure, cloud technologies and AI, contributing to strong projected growth in the APAC data centre market over the coming years.

Hitachi Vantara is positioning its regional leadership to align with these trends and support organisations managing increasingly complex data environments.

Wendy brings more than three decades of experience spanning IT consulting, enterprise strategy, infrastructure services, programme delivery and ecosystem development. Prior to joining Hitachi Vantara, she served as executive vice president for Southeast Asia at Capgemini.

Her earlier career includes senior leadership roles at Cisco, Juniper Networks and NetApp, where she worked across networking, storage, cloud software and strategic alliances. Her background includes leading large-scale technology and digital transformation initiatives for both public sector and commercial organisations.

In addition to her executive role, Wendy serves as an independent non-executive director at ASMPT Limited, a Singapore-headquartered provider of equipment and solutions for the semiconductor and electronics assembly industries.
