Malaysia – Tekun Nasional, a Malaysian agency under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development, has recently announced its strategic collaboration with Tiktok Shop to jointly introduce a live studio hub. This initiative will be the first of 12 such studios to be set up nationwide.
In a recent statement, Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Datuk Ewon Benedick shared that said partnership is aimed at strengthening micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by equipping them with digital marketing tools, financial support, and training to thrive in the online marketplace.
It also aims to support thousands of local entrepreneurs by helping them adopt live-streaming sales as a key business strategy.
At a recently held launch, Datuk Ewon Benedick said, “This TikTok Shop LIVE Hub will act as a catalyst for digital business growth, creating more opportunities for (entrepreneurs) while fostering innovation among local content creators.”
Nur Azre Abdul Aziz, director at TikTok Shop Malaysia, also stated, “Our investment of nearly RM3mil in developing and operating these hubs underscores TikTok Shop’s commitment to building an inclusive digital ecosystem that positively impacts the economy.”
Aziz also noted LIVE Hubs would be rolled out to more states, further bolstering support for MSMEs as they work to strengthen customer relationships and foster lasting business growth through “shoppertainment.”
The initiative plans to establish 12 studios across six states and territories: Sabah, Sarawak, Penang, Johor, Kelantan, and Kuala Lumpur.
Presently, local traders in Sabah have already received training in digital marketing, inventory management, and live-streaming sales strategies.
