Australia – Data streaming technology Confluent has recently announced its partnership with distribution company NEXTGEN Group, marking its inaugural distribution agreement in the Australia and New Zealand region.

This strategic collaboration aims to strengthen the company’s local channel strategy by allowing NEXTGEN to promote Confluent’s advanced data streaming solutions to its network of Australian partners. It further aspires to extend its reach to New Zealand, Singapore, and Malaysia.

In addition, the agreement also represents a significant shift for the company, enabling over 30 partners to gain access to its comprehensive cloud-native data streaming platform. The said platform, developed by the original developers of Apache Kafka, is tailored to support organisations in streaming, connecting, processing, and governing data in real time, facilitating seamless data integration across their systems and applications.

By partnering with NEXTGEN, the company intends to advance its support for businesses on their data streaming journey by leveraging NEXTGEN’s extensive technical expertise and partner base.

Commenting about the agreement, Kamal Brar, Senior Vice President of Asia-Pacific at Confluent, said, “This agreement sees Confluent rapidly expand its local channel partner ecosystem, a step that opens new opportunities for partners and new service offerings for their customers.”

“Through our agreement with NEXTGEN, we are excited to bring the capabilities of our data streaming platform to help more businesses unleash developer productivity, operate efficiently at scale, and enable more real-time applications. NEXTGEN brings a wealth of expertise and an exceptional partner base; we look forward to working with them to accelerate Confluent’s growth in Australia and beyond,” added Kamal.

Meanwhile, John Walters, group chief executive officer at NEXTGEN Group, said, “Our partnership with Confluent builds on our focus, capability, and expertise in enterprise software. Confluent is a pioneer in data streaming technology, and we’re proud to introduce more customers to its industry-leading solutions and enhance its offering through our unique collaborative service model.”
