Kawasaki, Japan – Fujitsu is launching a new security service designed to help organisations identify early signs of cyberattacks, investigate potential threats and plan responses before incidents cause damage.

The service, which takes effect on 25 September 2026, combines dark web monitoring, attack surface management and threat hunting. Fujitsu said it will use these capabilities to identify potential cyber risks in customer environments and support the development and implementation of countermeasures.

For its dark web monitoring and attack surface management capabilities, Fujitsu will use solutions from KELA under an MSSP (Managed Security Service Provider) and Reseller Agreement. KELA provides threat intelligence gathered from sources including underground forums and attacker communities on the dark web.

The service is intended to support organisations moving from reactive cybersecurity measures towards more proactive approaches. Fujitsu said this is particularly relevant to critical infrastructure operators and other organisations as Japan advances its government-led active cyber defence initiatives.

Three areas of cyber defence

The service is structured around three functions: dark web monitoring, attack surface management and threat hunting.

Under dark web monitoring, Fujitsu will investigate and analyse leaked credentials and attack indicators linked to customers using threat intelligence collected by KELA. Fujitsu’s cybersecurity specialists will assess the potential impact of identified information and support appropriate countermeasures.

Attack surface management will continuously identify customer assets exposed to the internet and assess vulnerabilities and exploitability. Fujitsu said it will combine KELA’s threat intelligence with its own cybersecurity expertise to identify priority risks and support countermeasure planning.

The threat hunting function will be handled by Fujitsu’s Uvance Wayfinders white-hat hacker team. The team will examine monitoring data and cloud audit logs to identify threats that may not trigger existing security alerts.

The team will draw on knowledge of attack techniques and experience from Red Team testing to assess whether customer environments have been compromised. Fujitsu will also support initial responses to identified threats and evaluate customers’ log collection and storage systems.

Focus on early detection

Fujitsu said organisations increasingly need to identify indicators of potential attacks before they develop into incidents, as cyber threats become more sophisticated.

The company said this requires organisations to monitor information beyond their internal environments, including threat intelligence from the dark web and internet-facing assets. However, it noted that many organisations face challenges in obtaining the specialist expertise and personnel needed to continuously conduct this work.

The new service is designed to bring threat discovery, analysis and initial countermeasure planning into a single offering, with Fujitsu security experts providing ongoing monitoring and operational support.

Fujitsu said it plans to use knowledge gained from delivering the service to further automate threat analysis and countermeasure recommendations.

The company also plans to expand its cybersecurity services through collaboration with its Cyber Security Nerve Centre, which is scheduled to begin operations in October 2026. Fujitsu said the centre will support cybersecurity operations across both routine periods and emergency situations.
