Texas, USA – In a concerted effort to strengthen customer payment systems in credit cards, Ribbon Communications, a leading communication technology and IP optical networking solutions provider, has recently forged a strategic partnership with BroadSource, designating Ribbon’s Session Border Controller, Software Edition Edge, as a crucial component in its latest cloud solution.
Called SecureCall, this initiative offers Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) compliance, catering to merchants of all sizes.
At the same time, it also enables the facilitation of secure conversations among the merchant, customer, and SecureCall Cloud. The said solution is obtained as a cloud service and implemented by the merchant’s telecom service provider, eliminating the need for the merchant to make new technology investments.
Among its features include Dual Tone Multi Frequency (DTMF ) Clamping as a tool to activate on any cloud phone line, making the service accessible regardless of the merchant’s staff location. Retail employees and agents can also confidently collect credit card information over the phone without interrupting calls or compromising screen recordings.
Speaking about the project, Haydn Faltyn, CEO and co-founder at BroadSource, said, “Ribbon’s global leadership and extensive SBC installed base gave us the necessary confidence to include them as a critical part of our solution.”
“We look forward to working together as customers around the world upgrade their systems to become PCI-DSS 4.0 compliant in March 2024, allowing them to secure their customers’ card payments made over the phone in both call centre and non-call centre environments,” he added.
Meanwhile, Manny Christophidis, enterprise and channel director at Ribbon Communications Asia Pacific, also commented, “We’re proud of our ability to help our customers ensure the security of business-critical communications and meet industry and government-led security mandates around the world.”
“We look forward to supporting BroadSource’s innovation and dedication to customer success well into the future,” ended Manny.
With the introduction of SecureCall, businesses can now achieve heightened security and compliance by losing visibility into customer card details once they are removed from the conversation.
