Tokyo, Japan – Klook has partnered with Meta to integrate its travel experiences into Muse, Meta’s personal AI agent, as the tool makes its debut in Japan.
The integration allows travellers to search, discover, assess, book and pay for Klook experiences within a single conversation with Muse, according to Klook.
Muse takes a traveller’s destination, interests, availability and preferences into account, Klook says. It draws on the platform’s inventory of 426,000 bookable offerings across more than 4,600 destinations to recommend tailored experiences.
Users can also ask follow-up questions to the agent, compare options and check booking conditions, including cancellation and rescheduling policies.
Once a traveller decides to book, they instruct Muse to proceed, and the agent places the order before directing them to Klook’s secure payment page. After payment, Muse confirms the booking in the same conversation, where the details remain stored for reference.
Throughout the process, Muse seeks the traveller’s confirmation before taking sensitive actions, such as placing orders and initiating payments, Klook says.
Beyond convenience, Klook argues that AI-powered discovery could benefit local businesses as well as travellers. By matching users’ interests and context with its inventory, Muse is designed to surface experiences beyond the usual attractions, which Klook says would give smaller, independent merchants greater visibility.
Jakii Chu, Senior Vice President, Global Marketing of Klook, framed the partnership around travellers’ growing use of AI for trip planning. “For over a decade, Klook has worked with local operators to bring a world of diverse and authentic experiences online, connecting them with travelers around the world,” says Chu.
“Now, we’re taking travel discovery to the next level with Meta’s Muse, innovating together as travelers increasingly turn to AI for inspiration and trip planning. With a personal travel agent at their fingertips, travelers can discover Klook’s breadth of experiences faster and with ease, finding options that match their interests and travel plans,” Chu added.
