Indonesia – Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, an IT services and consulting firm, has recently launched a range of new AI-powered, cloud-based solutions, supporting the sustainable growth of the upstream oil and gas industry in Indonesia.

These solutions will be offered through the company’s business arm, Indosat Business, as well as its information and communication technology provider, Lintasarta.

Part of the solutions includes high-resolution seismic through AI technology that facilitates exploration methods based on high-resolution seismic wave measurements with AI technology. This solution has the potential to address the limitations posed by low-resolution seismic data and, with careful planning for each well, it can boost production by up to 10%.

The launch also features an innovation that connects workers to improve quality and productivity by up to 10%. This approach enhances the production quality and eliminates manual errors by up to 15%. It also monitors safety compliance and emergency response levels, with the goal of improving overall workplace safety and efficiency.

Moreover, Indosat unveiled condition-based monitoring and predictive maintenance, a solution that addresses critical equipment maintenance failures.

By adopting this approach, the company asserts it can decrease maintenance-related damages by up to 20% and enhance productivity by 8–10%. This predictive maintenance strategy helps optimise equipment performance and minimise downtime effectively.

Next, an AI-based legal contract analysis solution was also introduced, with functions that involve reviewing complex legal contracts that carry high financial risks and extensive regulatory considerations.

Lastly, Indosat’s latest intelligent surveillance addresses the high accident rates in the oil and gas sector. This solution minimises the potential for fatal injuries by 95%, fires and explosions by 90%, and is 70% more cost-efficient compared to manual monitoring.

Talking about the advancements, Muhammad Buldansyah, director and chief business officer at Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, said, “The utilisation of technological innovation is crucial to remain at the forefront of the dynamic oil and gas sector. Indosat Business is delighted to introduce our new cutting-edge AI solutions designed to help the oil and gas sector become cleaner, more efficient, and more competitive.”
