Jakarta, Indonesia – GoTo, a software development firm, has recently announced that it has launched a new AI-enabled fintech voice assistant named ‘Dira by GoTo AI’ on the GoPay app. This solution allows users to navigate the GoPay app and perform tasks using voice commands in Bahasa Indonesia.

As part of this launch, users can activate it by tapping the microphone icon on the main page of the GoPay app. They can then use voice commands for tasks including electricity bill payments, money transfers, phone credit purchases, and PIN changes.

In terms of security, transactions facilitated through this solution continue to require PINs and biometric verifications like fingerprints or facial recognition. Transactions cannot then proceed without these verifications in place.

Furthermore, the introduction of Dira, which stands for Dikte Suara (voice dictation), offers users enhanced accessibility to AI benefits. In particular, its lightweight integration enables usage on all types of mobile phones, including those with limited capacity, without incurring additional costs.

Hans Patuwo, chief operating officer at GoTo, said, “Dira by GoTo AI delivers a localised voice assistance solution that not only benefits our users but also paves the way for more AI features across the GoTo ecosystem in the future.”

“The GoPay app was designed with simplicity and accessibility in mind, in line with our mission to provide financial services for Indonesians from all levels of society, including the country’s 97 million unbanked adults,” added Patuwo.

The launch of Dira builds on the company’s long-term artificial intelligence innovation programme, designed to integrate advanced AI technology throughout the company’s ecosystem.

Initially launched for a limited set of users using the GoPay app, it will be introduced gradually and later incorporated into the Gojek app.
