Singapore – Aspire, a financial services firm, has announced that it has recently expanded its compliance, risk, and IT security teams with the addition of two new leaders, including Summer Yu as the new global head of compliance and Tommaso Scarpa as the head of compliance (Singapore).

This strategic appointment is aimed at empowering the company’s plans towards its ambition for global growth and adhering to the utmost security standards for its clients and partners.

In this initiative, the firm reported it has grown 5x over the last year, with substantial investments in its global compliance team. It has also indicated strengthening its expertise in the international market to assist clients in internationalising efficiently.

The appointment of Summer offers the company more than two decades of experience in international regulation at PayPal, Bytedance, and HSBC.

On the other hand, Tommaso’s prior experience includes having previously served as the group head of financial crime at Currencycloud (a Visa Solution). Among his responsibilities encompass strengthening Aspire’s adherence to compliance standards in Singapore and improving its robust financial crime prevention framework.

Andrea Baronchelli, CEO at Aspire, said, “A strong compliance culture sets the foundation of Aspire’s growth. As we gear up for significant expansion, we are building a team of the best industry experts.”

“By investing heavily in our compliance, risk, and IT security teams, we ensure that Aspire not only meets but exceeds global regulatory standards, paving the way for a robust and sustainable future,” she added.

With a focus on compliance, the firm further announced its recent acquisition of an MSO license in Hong Kong, emphasising its market footprint globally.
