Sydney, Australia – CrowdStrike has partnered with CyberCert to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in Australia and New Zealand strengthen their cybersecurity and prepare for SMB1001 certification, the companies announced on 7 October. The partnership pairs the CrowdStrike Falcon platform, which the company describes as AI-native, with CyberCert’s certification services.
The arrangement is aimed at Managed Security Services Partners (MSSPs), which can now combine Falcon-powered managed services with CyberCert’s SMB1001 offering.
According to the companies, this gives MSSPs a way to deliver enterprise-grade protection to SMB customers while helping those customers demonstrate their cybersecurity maturity.
SMB1001 is a multi-level, globally recognised certification framework designed specifically for SMBs. The companies say it allows businesses to assess their cybersecurity maturity and strengthen it progressively.
The announcement comes as SMBs face threats of similar sophistication to those targeting larger enterprises, often without comparable security resources or expertise, according to the companies. Through the partnership, CrowdStrike and CyberCert aim to give these businesses a practical path to stronger security and certification readiness.
Jon Fox, CrowdStrike’s Vice President of Channels and Alliances for Japan and Asia Pacific, pointed to that resource gap in his comments on the deal.“SMBs face increasingly sophisticated AI threats without the security resources of the world’s largest enterprises,” said Fox.
“Together with CyberCert, we’re giving MSSPs a powerful way to bring enterprise-grade, AI-native protection to more SMBs while helping customers advance their cybersecurity maturity,” Fox added.
For its part, CyberCert focused on the pace of change in security standards.
“Today’s threat landscape demands SMBs strengthen their cybersecurity while keeping pace with evolving standards,” said Ryan Ettridge, Co-Founder and CEO of CyberCert. “By partnering with CrowdStrike, we’re enabling MSSPs to help SMBs progress toward SMB1001 certification while building stronger cyber defences with the Falcon platform.”
