Cloudera announces partnership with Bank Negara Indonesia to harness enterprise data, GenAI solutions

Indonesia – Software development firm Cloudera has recently announced that it has been chosen by Bank Negara Indonesia in its vision to be a global banking and financial services infrastructure. This strategic collaboration enables the bank to harness the value of its enterprise data and the power of generative artificial intelligence to innovate and improve its banking services. 

To improve the customer experience and increase operational efficiency, the bank will leverage GenAI with Cloudera and explore NVIDIA technology as its engine. This move aims to further enhance regional and commercial banking office productivity as well as strengthen the credit mechanism and transaction banking platform to deliver a highly personalised customer experience.

The said deployment also utilises its existing Cloudera solutions, which will allow the bank to rapidly scale up its GenAI operations to underpin its transformation journey. 

Speaking about the initiative, Billie Setiawan, senior vice president at Bank Negara Indonesia, said, “This strong collaboration among BNI, Cloudera, and NVIDIA will allow BNI to continue innovating and thus further strengthen its presence in the market by offering greater value to our customers and stakeholders.”

Sherlie Karnidta, country manager of Indonesia at Cloudera, said, “We are thrilled to collaborate with BNI as they leverage the power of GenAI and the data that fuels it to drive innovation and achieve their business goals.”

This collaboration is a testament to Cloudera’s commitment to helping Indonesian enterprises like BNI achieve their digital transformation goals,” added Sherlie.

Malcolm deMayo, global vice president of financial services at NVIDIA, also said, “Generative AI-driven banking demands top-tier AI technologies to meet the diverse needs of a global customer base. Cloudera’s AI Inference service, combined with NVIDIA NIM, delivers the performance and security needed for Bank Negara Indonesia to achieve its innovative AI-driven banking goals.”
