Singapore – Artificial intelligence company Anthropic is set to open an office in Singapore in October as it expands its presence across Asia-Pacific and increases its local hiring efforts.
The Singapore location will be the company’s fifth office in the Asia-Pacific region, following existing offices in Tokyo, Bengaluru, Seoul and Sydney.
Anthropic has also appointed Dale Finlay as General Manager for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Based in Singapore, Finlay will work with customers and partners across Southeast Asia.
The company said demand for its AI services in Singapore has been particularly strong among regulated sectors, including financial services and government.
Anthropic also cited findings from its latest Economic Index, which places Singapore second among 121 countries for Claude.ai usage relative to population.
According to the company, Claude.ai usage in Singapore is 5.81 times higher than would be expected based on the country’s population size.
The new office forms part of Anthropic’s broader expansion across Asia-Pacific, as businesses and public-sector organisations in the region explore the use of generative AI across a range of applications.
Anthropic said the Singapore office will support its work with customers and partners in Southeast Asia as it continues to build its regional presence.
