Singapore – Sumsub has launched Reusable KYC Gateway, a product that lets users verify their identity once and reuse it across multiple regulated services, with stablecoin wallet MiniPay going live as the first integrator.

The company, which describes itself as an AI-powered trust infrastructure provider for compliance operations, unveiled the product at Token2049 Singapore.

Under the system, MiniPay users can verify once and reuse that identity at every regulated partner in the network. MiniPay does not need to store, handle or control sensitive personal data such as identity documents, Sumsub says.

Gateway joins Reusable KYC Share in Sumsub’s Reusable KYC product line.

MiniPay operates in more than 70 countries and has opened over 20 million wallets to date, according to Sumsub. Because it is a self-custodial wallet, MiniPay does not verify users itself.

Instead, each partner, including on- and off-ramps, card issuers and payment providers, has traditionally run its own separate KYC process. As a result, the same user has re-uploaded documents and resubmitted a selfie for every new partner, despite verifying the same identity within the same ecosystem.

Sumsub says each repeat check creates a drop-off point that costs partners conversion and costs users time.

Gateway addresses this by having users verify once with Sumsub. When prompted, a MiniPay user either draws on one of 15 million existing Sumsub IDs or completes a new check with an ID document and a selfie.

The user then explicitly consents to connect that verified identity to their MiniPay account, retaining control over what is shared and with whom.

Subsequently, when the user first interacts with a regulated partner in the network, they consent once to share their identity with that partner. The partner receives the verified identity directly from Sumsub ID.

The partner can then complete verification without additional user screens. It still runs its own compliance checks against its policies, with further checks required for higher-risk transactions.

Because the identity passes directly from Sumsub to the partner, MiniPay does not collect, store or handle identity documents or biometric data itself.

On results, Sumsub reports that MiniPay partners have seen verification conversion rise from approximately 70% to 95% since adopting the approach. KYC completion time has fallen by up to 50%, the company adds.

Eight of MiniPay’s partners already use Sumsub for verification.

“Repeated KYC checks across the same ecosystem are inconvenient for everyone, and one in three applicants we see have already verified with us before,” said Andrew Novoselsky, Chief Product Officer of Sumsub.

“Reusable KYC Gateway puts that reuse to work for MiniPay’s users, giving them a single verified identity that works throughout its entire partner network, with full control over what they share and with whom,” Novoselsky added.

Murray Spark, Senior Director of Business Development of Opera, also commented on the rollout.

“Self-custody has always been central to MiniPay. Users hold their own funds, and now they also control their own verified identity,” said Spark.

“They decide what to share and with whom, and that matters more and more as our partner network expands across new markets,” Spark added.
