Seoul, South Korea – Securitize and LG CNS have entered into a strategic partnership to explore the development of tokenised assets and digital asset infrastructure for financial institutions in South Korea.
Under a memorandum of understanding, the companies plan to combine Securitize’s experience in regulated asset tokenisation and bringing institutional financial products onchain with LG CNS’s technology capabilities and relationships across South Korea’s financial sector.
The collaboration will focus on market development, technology and product development, and digital asset infrastructure.
The companies will identify potential opportunities with financial institutions in South Korea and the wider Asia-Pacific region involving tokenised assets, tokenised securities and stablecoins. This could include joint market education initiatives and the development of institutional use cases.
They also plan to explore tokenisation solutions tailored to the needs of South Korean financial institutions and the country’s evolving regulatory environment.
A further area of collaboration will cover digital asset infrastructure, including stablecoin infrastructure and digital asset treasury solutions. Subject to applicable laws and regulatory approvals, the companies may also explore infrastructure that connects South Korean markets with global markets and supports the distribution, execution, and settlement of tokenised securities and stablecoins on a 24-hour basis.
“South Korea has one of the world’s most sophisticated technology and financial markets, making it an important market for the next phase of institutional tokenisation. Working with LG CNS gives us an opportunity to combine our experience bringing regulated financial assets onchain with deep local technology and market expertise,” said Carlos Domingo, Co-Founder and CEO of Securitize.
“Our goal is to help build the infrastructure that can bring more high-quality financial products onchain in Korea while creating stronger connections between Korean institutions and global capital markets,” Domingo continued.
“Korea is entering a pivotal phase in asset tokenisation,” said Hongkeun Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Digital Business Division of LG CNS.
“By combining LG CNS’s financial technology expertise with Securitize’s global tokenisation infrastructure and experience, we aim to help Korean financial institutions build practical, regulatory-compliant applications and accelerate the growth of Korea’s digital asset ecosystem,” Kim continued.
The partnership is expected to cover joint go-to-market initiatives, technical implementation, product development and broader ecosystem education. The companies will also explore opportunities involving existing tokenised financial products and infrastructure, including institutional tokenised funds where permitted by applicable laws and regulations.
Any products or services arising from the collaboration will remain subject to applicable laws, regulatory requirements and approvals, as well as the respective internal approval and compliance processes of both companies.
