Toronto, Canada – Modaxo has appointed Ian Woodroofe as Chief Strategy Officer, creating a new executive role focused on market and competitive strategy across the company’s transportation technology businesses.
Woodroofe will report to Chief Executive Officer Bill Delaney and oversee Modaxo’s strategy across transit operations, fare collection, parking and traffic management, and airports and aviation.
His responsibilities will also include coordinating relationships with customers and partners that work with multiple Modaxo businesses, as well as supporting the company’s mergers and acquisitions process.
The newly created role is intended to provide a portfolio-wide view of Modaxo’s growth opportunities and develop strategies to pursue them.
Woodroofe brings more than 20 years of experience across international transportation, payments, safety, security and control solutions. He most recently held senior business development and transformation roles at Cubic Transportation Systems and Thales.
During his career, Woodroofe has built global teams across different geographies and cultures, established industry payment partnerships and managed large customer accounts across organisational boundaries.
Modaxo said Woodroofe grew Cubic’s top-line results by approximately US$1 billion year-on-year and Thales’ top-line results by US$3.5 billion over six years. He also brings relationships across the global transportation sector.
“We are delighted to welcome Ian to the Modaxo family,” said Bill Delaney, Chief Executive Officer of Modaxo.
“His experience building trust and driving growth across large, complex organisations makes him ideally positioned to help us realise our goal of enabling two billion journeys every day by 2035,” Delaney continued.
“It’s an honour to join Modaxo,” said Ian Woodroofe, Chief Strategy Officer of Modaxo.
“Modaxo’s scale and depth of expertise in people movement is impressive, and I’m looking forward to working with the executive team and our portfolio businesses to bring focus to where we grow and to build the partnerships and customer relationships that belong to Modaxo as a whole,” Woodroofe continued.
