Vientiane, Laos – Kaspersky and Best Telecom have expanded their strategic cooperation in Laos through two agreements covering telecommunications and financial-services digital ecosystems.

The agreements, signed during Kaspersky Founder and CEO Eugene Kaspersky‘s visit to Laos, involve Best Telecom and its affiliated business Sysmatik, an information technology company in the country.

Under the agreement with Best Telecom, eligible customers will be able to access Kaspersky consumer cybersecurity products, including Kaspersky Standard, Kaspersky Premium and Kaspersky Safe Kids, through a bundled service model.

The arrangement extends the telecommunications operator’s existing services to include access to cybersecurity products for customers.

Mobile security for financial services

Separately, Kaspersky and Sysmatik have signed a memorandum of understanding covering the rollout of the Kaspersky Mobile Security SDK for Android and iOS.

The technology is designed to provide malware and phishing protection for mobile users and is intended to support financial-services digital ecosystems operated by Best Telecom affiliates.

The agreements form part of a broader relationship between Kaspersky and Best Telecom, with the companies looking to integrate cybersecurity capabilities across telecommunications and financial services in Laos.

The cooperation comes as mobile connectivity and digital banking become increasingly integrated into everyday activities, while threats including malware, phishing and online fraud continue to present security challenges for users.

“Digital transformation creates tremendous opportunities for both individuals and businesses alike, but it also makes cybersecurity an increasingly important part of everyday digital life,” said Eugene Kaspersky, CEO of Kaspersky.

“We’re really pleased to be expanding our cooperation with AIF Group and bringing our cybersecurity expertise to two important areas of Laos’ digital economy – telecommunications and financial services.

Through our cooperation with Best Telecom and BIC Bank, we aim to make digital protection more accessible and to increase trust in the digital services that individuals and businesses rely on. We look forward to continuing our cooperation with AIF Group as Laos advances its digital transformation,” Kaspersky continued.

“Cybersecurity is a fundamental enabler of Laos’ continuing digital transformation,” said Dr. Rithikone Phoummasack, CEO of Best Telecom.

“By working with Kaspersky across our telecommunications and financial-services businesses, we can make trusted cybersecurity capabilities more accessible through services that consumers already rely on. We believe these initiatives can help strengthen digital trust while supporting the development of a safer and more secure digital economy in Laos,” Phoummasack continued.

For Best Telecom customers, the agreements provide access to Kaspersky’s consumer cybersecurity solutions through telecommunications services. Sysmatik customers, meanwhile, will be able to integrate mobile security capabilities into digital financial-service ecosystems.

The companies said the expanded cooperation is intended to support digital transformation and strengthen cybersecurity and trust across Laos’ growing digital economy.
